Life of Pi in the West End

In the summer of 2019 I was part of the original cast of Life of Pi at the Sheffield Crucible. I was asked to come on board in the role of Mamaji (Uncle) and Panditji (priest) in a production directed by Max Webster and script adapted by Lolita Chakrabarti. In an ensemble piece lead by Hiran Abeysekra as Pi, not only did we play several characters, we also embodied animals, of which I was part of the zebra called Black and White.
The production went on to win nine awards, including Best New Play at the whatsonstage awards and UK Theatre awards. Hiran deservedly won Best Performance in a Play at the UK Theatre Awards.

They have now announced the West End cast, and I’m pleased to say I’m resuming my roles at the Wyndhams Theatre, in the heart of London’s West End. Owing to the global situation, we’re waiting to hear when Life of Pi will be performing, fingers crossed it’ll be Autumn 2021. Once we’re up and running, I hope to see you there.
