Becoming An Ambassador For Acting For Others

In January I was asked to be an Ambassador for Acting For Others. They’re a brilliant charity who offer financial and emotional support to all theatre workers in times of need.

For every successful performer, there are hundreds of actors, dancers, musicians, lighting technicians, scene painters, wardrobe staff, front of house, backstage staff who are not so fortunate. They may be suffering from illness, injury, be caring for a child with special needs, or have reached an age when they simply can no longer work to support themselves or make ends meet.

Acting For Others offers financial and emotional support to those who need it. The member charities dispense over £2 million to hundreds of people across the profession every year.

I feel very honoured to have been asked to be part of this wonderful organisation, as they do such important work. In the pandemic as the theatre industry was decimated, the Theatre Support Fund came up with ‘The Show Must Go On!’ campaign. All proceeds from the sales of goods go directly into helping those that need it. Please buy your merchandise here

In 2020, Acting For Others helped thousands of people in the industry who like me, are part of the Excluded. For those of us who never received ANY financial support from the Government during the pandemic, this charity became a life line for many people making charitable donations to those who applied. If you are able to make a donation, please do so on their Just Giving page here.
